Terms & Conditions

Students

Any student taking driving tuition must be in possession of a valid driving licence (provisional/full) which is suitable for the course of lessons they are taking. They must also meet the medical and eyesight requirements of the DVLA and DSA.
Your instructor reserves the right to refuse driving tuition should he/she feel it necessary due to the pupils misconduct, ill health or if he/she believes that they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs (prescribed or illegal).

Instructors

All instructors are DSA approved and CRB checked.
They will provide a fully insured dual controlled vehicle which will be kept generally clean and tidy.

All instructors will not smoke at any time in the vehicle.

Cancellations

When cancelling a driving lesson at least 24 hours notice must be given. Failure to do
so will result in the lesson being charged for at the full rate. Lessons should be
cancelled by telephone via the driving school office. Tel 020 86569491 (24hours)
Portland driving school can not be held responsible for the cancellation of lessons due
to your instructors ill health, vehicle mechanical breakdown or any unforeseen
circumstances . However we will rebook your lesson as soon as we have space
available.

Lessons

Duration of lesssons is approximately 1 hour .If for any reason your instructor is
delayed, lost time will be made up at the end of the lesson or carried over to future lessons.

Driving Test

The driving test session includes a 1 hour lesson , use or vehicle on test and return
journey.

If your driving test is cancelled by the DSA at short notice due to shortage of staff or
sickness we will still charge the full test session fee. However we will assist you in recovering our fee and any out of pocket expenses from the DSA.
We reserve the right to withdraw the driving school vehicle for use on a driving test if
the instructor considers the student not to be a t test standard. This is in the interest of road safety.

Complaints

Any complaints or queries should be discussed with your instructor at the earliest
opportunity however is you are dissatisfied with the outcome please contact the driving school office for further advice.

Payment

Payment should be made by cash or cheque (cheques should be made payable to your
instructor.)

Block booking fees should be paid in advance and individual lessons fees paid at the
start of each lesson.

Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the purchase date.
Portland driving school reserve the right to amend lesson fees at their discretion (existing pupils will be given 30 days notice.)

Portland driving school reserve the right to amend the above terms and conditions at their discretion.
